Here is the God Of War Ragnarök For Vanaheim! Favour guide where we will help you find and rescue Birgir who is being trapped by The Crimson Dread.
The Crimson Dread as well as this Favour will count towards one of the Crater Hunts required as you work towards Invasive Species. This Favour will show up as a Dragon Hunt on your World overview once the Favour has been completed.
In order to get to The Crater you will firstly need to complete the Creatures of Prophecy main story quest where you rescue Freyr then, on your back to the Mystic Gateway you will come across Lúnda’s dog, Helka beginning the Scent of Survival Favour, which, once completed, will land you in The Crater.
You will begin the For Vanaheim! Favour once you mantle over the cliff at the start of The Crater, however, you can complete it at a later date.
Mantle over the cliff from the Crater Entrance Mystic Gateway (your starting point), go left then cross the chasm taking down the Draugr and Wyvern enemies whilst avoiding the Dragons attacks where you can.
Cross The Plains taking care around the poison pods, drop down the swing across both chasms and mantle up to the right where you will come to a Celestial Altar you need to use to change the time of day from Day to Night.
Kick the shield off the edge of the ledge then drop down taking out the Seidr, Wight, Ogre and Wisp enemies that spawn at night then go through the gate the Ogre was trying to smash through.
Follow the path staying to the right whilst avoiding the poison pods and squeeze through the gap where you will face off against a powerful Dragon, The Crimson Dread.
The Crimson Dread is a tough opponent who hits hard, fast and plenty of lethality baked in to its flame breath and swiping attacks. One important thing to be wary of is when the Dragon takes off and swoops in on you with a stream of fire which can and will inflict burn on you removing chunks of your health.
Throw your Axe at the Dragon’s head when it comes in to attack, grounding the Dragon for a short while allowing you to inflict heavy damage as it gets back up.
Once The Crimson Dread is down, collect all of the loot then climb the wall opposite the gap you squeezed through before the fight to find a wounded Birgir asking for help.
Go to the Mystic Gateway and interact with it to send the big man through the portal thus completing the For Vanaheim! Favour.
