Remnant 2 Guide

Welcome to the Remnant 2 Guide which will help you through this challenging game. Pick your Archetype once you get to Ward-13 and get ready for a tough, highly rewarding experience as Remnant 2 has re-written the rule book on what gamer’s should expect from a challenging loot-shooter souls like.

  • Platforms: PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PC.
  • Trophies: 51: Platinum: 1 Gold: 1 Silver: 15 Bronze: 34.
  • Achievements: 50: 1,000 G.
  • Release Date: 25-July-2023
  • Missable: None, you can go back and re roll a World until you get the one you need then go through the game from that point collecting or talking to who you need.
  • Glitched: Pretty much everything in online co-op, offline solo mode, there’s nothing glitched so be careful how you play.
  • Online: None.
  • Difficulty Rating: 7/10.
  • Approx. time to 100%: 45+ Hours skill and luck dependant.

Remnant 2 is a tough game by anyone’s standards so don’t expect an easy ride here.

Work your way through the tutorial then speak with Wallace in Ward 13 to choose your Archetype then gear up and touch the World Stone with Ford where you will be thrust in to one of 3 World’s.

Remnant 2 doesn’t play like most other games out there, there are 3 initial World’s you can be placed in:

  1. Losomn which is a Cthulhu, Bloodborne style world with Hunter’s, demented townsfolk, a Victorian style, lost children and a Fae world that is as dangerous as it is beautiful.
  2. N’Erud which is a sci-fi barren landscape filled with robots, giant slugs, poison filled zombie style enemies, mechs and deep foreboding dungeons you will need to traverse.
  3. Yaesha which is a World filled with lush jungle, teleporting Rangers, powerful plant based enemies, alien filled arenas and some of the toughest fights in the game.

If you are struggling with a given area or just don’t like being there, travel back to Ward 13, interact with the world stone and re roll the campaign which will then hopefully place you in a different area.

Just be careful doing this as all of your character progression will remain, however, all of your World progress will reset, now this does change later in the game but for now you need to be careful, if you are struggling with a boss, feel like going off to level up in a different World then want to come back you won’t be able to so ensure you do all of your grinding before re rolling as you’ll be back at the start.

None of the achievements are missable in Remnant 2 as such, some you have to go out of your way for and as long as you’re diligent in your approach you will be able to go back and get them at a later date, however, you can pretty much count the entire trophy list at launch as glitched if you play in co-op as there have been so many bugs with achievements unlocking unless you’re playing offline and solo.

This will probably all be fixed in upcoming patches but for now, at launch, online co-op isn’t the way to go if trophies are your thing.

Meet Nimue

Nimue is the Fae Goddess and can be found by progressing through the game in the Losomn realm, going through Cotton Kiln, taking down Gwendil the Unburnt then carrying on through the game through the the next Marrow Parish you can access to the asylum.

Go through the asylum and outside in to the courtyard where you will see a shed over to your right with an ominous red glow, interact with the door ensuring you are reloaded and take down Ripsaw who is an Aberration so take care as these things are tough to take down.

Re-enter the shed after you have dealt with Ripsaw go back in to the shed and collect the Asylum Third Floor Key from the table then head back inside and go up to the top floor of the asylum.

Use the Asylum Third Floor Key on the door, go through and work your way through the rooms around the blockade taking down the Fae who appear then interact with the glyph on the back wall to be transported to Nimue’s Retreat.

Cross the bridge and make your way down the stairs all the way through to a star filled area where Nimue will appear who will then give you a lot of lore and backstory for Clementine and the Nightweaver.

Meet the Flautist

You will need to be in Yaesha in order to meet the Flautist who can be found on the furthest section away from the entrance to the far North East of The Withering Weald.

Once you get close to the Flautist who will be up on some rocks to your left before you enter the Kaeula’s Rest dungeon you will hear music playing, speak with the Flautist to learn a lot of lore about the rot in the forest as well as his reasoning for surviving as long as he has.

Receive an Alignment Reading from Meidra

Meidra can be found in Yaesha in The Withering Weald but only on certain World re-rolls. I have re-rolled Yaesha 9 times so far at the time of writing this guide and Meidra has only appeared once in The Withering Weald which is accessible from the Red Throne starting point in Yaesha itself.

You will have 2 options by the looks of things in The Withering Weald, on some runs you will come up against the Root Nexus boss, whereas on other runs, you will be able to find Medira in the same location so it’s luck of the draw which you will get.

You will know Meidra has spawned as there will be a blue NPC on the map as well as you being able to see a very tall tree with purple glowing leaves from a good distance away.

When you get to Meidra, speak with her where she will offer to open your eye and depending on the type of answers you give, you will receive a new trait from Meidra you can use throughout the rest of the game.

Meidra will ask you a series of questions with there being 2 answers, one good, one bad, the answers you give doesn’t affect the story, however, the trait you want to go for does differ depending on how you approach the questions.

If you answer kindly, show empathy and concern throughout the questions, you will receive the Barkskin trait which reduces all incoming damage by 10% after you put 10 trait points in to it and is my pick.

If, however, you answer with malice, distain and show a general disregard for those around you then you will receive the Bloodstream trait which reduces the grey section of your health bars (after you take damage) cooldown by 3 seconds after placing 10 trait points in to it.

For me, negating 10% of all damage received is a far better trait but you do you and answer accordingly where will then receive your given trait after you have answered several questions..

You will be able to find the Custodian in the North West section of the Abyssal Rift area on N’Erud.

Mudtooth is in Ward 13, whenever you go to him you will be able to speak with him and listen to a story. There are a good number of stories and you will need to progress through the story near enough to the end before you can hear them all.

Speak with Mudtooth regularly where you will eventually hear all of his stories.

Defeat the Ravager

The Ravager is a very powerful boss found in Yaesha and before you can access it , you will need to raise the bridge in The Lost Temple accessed by going through Kaeula’s Rest and taking down Kaeula’s Shadow where you can then get up and around behind the previously locked door, pull the mechanism to raise the bridge then head across ensuring you unlock Carnage in C-Minor first (not essential but it saves coming back).

There are several ways to defeat the Ravager, each one giving you a different reward.

For me, as I needed to get Only Human out of the way, I chose to shoot the Doe before attacking the Ravager which constitutes a win. In the description at the top of the guide, I do say to re roll the game until you have Yaesha as your first area so if you would like to fight the Ravager, you will need to re roll losing all of your progress then go back and fight the Ravager properly.

Choice is yours of course.

Defeat the Nightweaver

The Nightweaver is a tough boss you can face in Losomn as long as you have Morrow Parish as your starting point then head through to the Sanatorium then all the way back around where you will acquire the Soulkey Tribute from a corpse the Nightweaver was feeding on allowing you to gift the Soulkey Tribute to the Web at the bottom of the stairs back in the Asylum thus transporting you to The Tormented Asylum.

Ensure you rest at the checkpoint before heading up and out in to the courtyard as the Nightweaver is a very tough fight which takes place across 2 battles so conserve your ammo and Relics as phase 2 is not only an epic battle, it’s a brutal one as well.

Check out the, The Nightweaver boss guide for how to find and take down The Nightweaver in Losomn.

Defeat the Final Boss

The final boss in the game is harder to get to than it is to defeat as you need to firstly need to get through to Root Earth which is the final World in the game and is accessible by taking down at least 1 World boss in each of the 3 potential starting areas where you will then be able to speak to the Keeper in The Labyrinth who will send you to Root Earth.

Annihilation is a 3 phase fight that is very trippy in the second phase and it gave me a headache as you flit between the boss realm and the… other realm which is bathed in red but the whole fight is jarring.

Once you can see past that side of things the fight is fairly simple as long as you focus fire on the orange energy balls and roll through the attacks.

Check out the Annihilation boss guide for a look at how to bring the Dragon down.

Ghost in the Machine
Defeat 25 Aberrations

Aberrations will appear throughout the World’s and appear as if they are a boss, although they will be easier to take down than most bosses and they are usually red versions of the powerful enemies found throughout a biome.

Every World has a lot of standard enemies with a few over powered enemies thrown in for good measure. These powerful enemies won’t respawn if you die whereas the normal enemies do.

The Aberrations are red versions of these non spawning enemies, have a health bar above their heads and are very powerful so be careful when you take them on.

Aberrations will appear in out of the way locations or as a barrier to certain story items like Ripsaw in the Asylum on Losomn who you need to defeat before you can get the Third Floor Asylum Key.

You will need to be incredibly powerful before you will be able to take down 25 Aberrations so keep playing through the game killing them as you go.

Check out the Ghost in the Machine guide for how to find and take down every Aberration in Remnant 2.

Defeat the Labyrinth Boss

The Labyrinth is an area which will open up once you have defeated your first World boss in either Yaesha, N’Erud or Losomn and is a fairly tricky area to navigate as you need to use portals to find your way around.

Progress through the Labyrinth to the Inner Sanctum checkpoint and take down the Labyrinth Sentinel which is done by shooting the white dots whilst avoiding being crushed.

Check out the Labyrinth Sentinel boss guide for exactly what you need to do to take down the Labyrinth Sentinel.

Defeat Tal’Ratha

Tal’Ratha is the World boss on N’Erud from the Frogotten Prison starting point. You will need to go through the biomes back around to the rear section of the Forgotten Prison where you can go through and take on Tal Ratha who will ask you to join eternity.

If you agree, you will be then be eaten and be in a fight against Tal Ratha (Metaphysical) which will gift you the Acidic Jawbone as a reward allowing you to craft the Gas Giant melee weapon.

However, if you refuse to join eternity you will have a more difficult fight against Tal Ratha which will then reward you with the Spiced Bile allowing you to craft the Nebula handgun.

Whichever version you decide to fight, take Tal Ratha down to unlock this one.

Defeat 100 Special Enemies

You will encounter a lot of special enemies which are the more powerful enemies you will find in a given map, you will hear a chime when one appears and they will be tougher to take down than regular enemies by a bit or a great deal depending on where you are.

You will easily have this done by the time you get to Labyrinth just by farming Scrap, increasing your Archetype level etc.

Special enemies are a lot more likely to show up in the latter sections of a given World although they will appear in any biome where hostiles can be found so keep killing until you have done 100 special enemies.

Defeat Guardian of N’Erud

Sha’Hala Spectral Guardian of N’Erud is the World boss from the Seeker’s Rest starting point on N’Erud and can be a very tough fight if you’re going in solo.

You will need to acquire 3 Seeker’s Keys as you progress through the various biomes which are easy to find as they show up in orange on your map as you make your way through taking down the bosses as you go.

Before you can initiate the fight against Sha’Hala, you will need to ride a slow moving elevator up to a console which you can use the Override Pin on, destroying N’Erud after the fight and requiring you to start the game again, or, you can interact with the left side of the console preserving N’Erud.

However, you will only save N’Erud for 24 hours as after this time, you will only be able to travel to Alepsis Taura with every other biome on N’Erud being locked out so it’s a tough one either way.

Whichever you decide to do, here’s the Sha’Hala Spectral Guardian of N’Erud boss guide to help you take this overgrown Alien down. Well, actually, as we’re on his planet that would make us the Alien but you get the point.

Only Human
Defeat a Boss in Single-Player Without Taking Any Damage

There are several ways you can get this done with the easiest being on Yaesha when you are facing off against the Ravager. Before the fight you will be given a choice, to either kill the Doe or not.

If you shoot the Doe you will have this one done and out the way. Any other boss in the game will be a lot harder as you need to not only not take damage from the boss itself, you also need to avoid the mobs as well which is very challenging so head to Yaesha, kill the Doe then re roll (losing all of your campaign progress) if you struggle with the morality of your decision.

Quest for Survival
Defeat a World Boss

Given the fact Remnant 2 is procedurally generated there is no telling which World you will come to first, if, however, you aren’t getting on with a particular World, you can re roll at the World Stone in Ward-13.

However, take care with this as you will lose all in game progress, although you do keep your character progression so that’s something then play through a give World to its conclusion, take down the final boss of that area where you will then unlock Quest for Survival.

The 3 World bosses you can access will be, depending on the World you progress through as follows:

Whichever World Boss you take down, good luck with the fight, they’re not the easiest bosses to take down in Remnant 2 so ensure you are appropriately geared and levelled.

Defeat the Root Mantis

The Root Mantis is the first boss you will face in the game and isn’t a difficult one to take down as long as you dodge out of the way of it’s scythes and avoid the thrown projectiles.

The game will give you access to melee attacks once the fight begins, however, I don’t recommend going toe to toe with a boss in Remnant 2. You have ranged attacks so use them instead ensuring you stay alive.

If you do fall, one of the NPC’s will revive you although this only happened to me once so I’m unsure as to how many revives you will get.

Aim at the glowing spot on its face as best as you can and whittle the Root Mantis’ health down until it’s defeated.

Defeat the Fae Imposter

The Fae Imposter can be faced as long as you have the Beatific Palace as your starting point on Losomn, you then need to go all the way through the World collecting the Faelin Mural piece from the ground floor of the Beatific Palace and the Faerin Mural piece from the Malefic Palace by choosing the card with the 2 Kings’ faces on it.

With both mural pieces acquired you can go back to the Beatific Palace, place the Mural pieces on the floor in front of the large door by matching their respective colours thus unlocking the door allowing you through the Beatific Gallery.

Faelin will appear and task you with taking down who he claims to be the imposter: Faerin, however, Faelin himself is the imposter so you will need to select the “Actually, I think I will challenge you” dialogue option when it becomes available which will initiate the fight against Faelin.

Check out the Faelin boss guide for everything you need to find and take down the imposter.

Discover a Blood Moon Room

From what I gather, there are several Blood Moon Rooms which can only be found on Yaesha during a Blood Moon, however, the first one I managed to find was in the Imperial Gardens which won’t always appear on your playthrough so it might be worth re-rolling then going through Yaesha until you can find the Imperial Gardens or look around for another Blood Moon Room.

If I find any others, I will add them to this guide, if this text is still here then I either haven’t found any or it’s slipped my mind.

Either way, once you’re in Imperial Gardens on Yaesha, ensure there’s a Blood Moon which is a random occurrence. Fast travel to and from Ward-13 until you see the Blood Moon above you then head forward taking the first left then left again where you will see this statue:

Get close to the statue where a platform will slide out of the way revealing a ladder you can take down to be inside of the Blood Moon Room which contains the very powerful Full Moon Circlet.

Discover Leto’s Stash

Leto’s Stash is located in a hidden section of Ward 13, however, you won’t be able to get there until you acquire the Biome Portal Key which you will get as you progress through the story of Remnant 2.

In Remnant 2 there is an area called The Labyrinth which you can get to once you have taken down a World Boss in any of the 3 Worlds where you will obtain an object called the Strange Object causing you to get taken to The Labyrinth the next time you interact with a checkpoint.

Progress through The Labyrinth until you take down the Labyrinth Sentinel boss then proceed through to the back area, go through the cutscene where you will ultimately acquire the Biome Portal Key.

Now you have the Biome Portal Key, go to the Fractured Ingress checkpoint, go up the stairs to your right, follow the path around then drop down where you can take the left bridge towards a portal taking out the enemies and the Special as you go.

Don’t go through the portal at the end of the path, instead, go behind it and drop down through a hidden portal, take out the enemies then go through the portal to your left to come to a new area.

From here, go through the passage to your left and mantle up the cliff on your left going up and across to the crawlspace, mantle up to the right then jump across the third and final gap where you can go round to the realm door.

Use the Biome Portal Key on the door to open the way to the very back section of Ward 13, collect the Chicago Typewriter long gun from the crate then go into the container and open the crate to have discovered Leto’s Stash.

Leto’s Stash is the Leto Mark II Armor set which is one of if not the heaviest set in the entire game.

Craft a Boss Weapon

There are plenty of boss weapons you can craft over at McCabe in Ward-13, most of which require a specific material dropped as a reward for defeating a boss in a certain way.

On Yaesha alone you can craft the Feral Judgement melee weapon by killing the Corrupted Ravager and the Doe in the same fight or you can use the Twisted Lazurite dropped by the Corruptor to craft the Twisted Arbalest long gun for example.

As long as you get the crafting item required, head to McCabe and as long as you have the required item, Lumenite Crystals which are dropped by special enemies (see Not So Special Now for more information on special enemies). As well as a given amount of Scrap you will be able to craft a boss weapon.

Choose Your First Archetype

Once you have taken down the Root Mantis you will then make your way to Ward 13, go up the stairs on the right side of the area in the dock and speak with Wallace where you can decide which archetype you would like to be.

The 4 starting archetypes are:

  1. Medic, Healing, Support, Well-Rounded.
  2. Hunter, Long Range, Marking, Precision Damage.
  3. Challenger, Close Range, Durable, Hard to Kill.
  4. Handler, Pet Companion, Teamwork, Utility.

Depending on how you plan to play through Remnant 2 depends on which of the 4 starting Archetypes you should choose. If you’re in a group then choose either the Medic or the Handler.

If you’re playing through Remnant 2 solo then choose either the Hunter or the Challenger.

Whichever you choose be prepared to die a lot as Remnant 2 is a challenging game, if you’re familiar with the souls series style of games (check out our souls genre for a look at what types of game Remnant 2 is similar in difficulty to).

Personally, I went for the Challenger as the self-revive comes in very handy for a solo player like myself, however, of course, the choice is yours to make.

Slot a Second Archetype

Continue playing through the game with whichever Archetype you began with until you reach level 10 where you will unlock Top Performer. You will then need to go back to Ward 13 and providing you haven’t unlocked an Engram granting you access to one of the secret Archetypes (see Shhh…It’s a Secret) you will need to purchase one of 4 items from a particular vendor in Ward 13 which are:

  1. Medic: Purchase the Medic Pin from Dr Norah for 1,500 Scrap.
  2. Hunter: Purchase the Rusty Medal from Brabus for 1,500 Scrap.
  3. Challenger: Purchase the Old Metal Tool from Reggie for 1,500 Scrap.
  4. Handler: Purchase the Old Whistle from Mudtooth for 1,500 Scrap.

With any of these 4 items purchased, go back and speak with Wallace where he will then craft you a new Engram you can slot in to your character by going: Player Menu> Archetypes then choose the empty slot on the top right and choose any Engram you have available to equip your 2nd Archetype which will work in conjunction with your first.

There are several secret Archetypes in Remnant 2, the one I went for was the Summoner as I was struggling with Yaesha solo and I didn’t choose the Handler so having another on the field can be invaluable.

See Bad Moon Rising for how to unlock the Summoner Archetype.

There are several other secret Archetypes in game, however, I haven’t found any others as yet, I do know there is a Secret Archetype for completing the main game, the Explorer.

You will need to take an Engram to Wallace in Ward-13 along with 1,000 Scrap where he will then craft you your new Archetype, having it purchased will be enough to satisfy the requirements, you won’t need to equip it.

There’s no need to place any Trait points in to the Traits, simply having them available will be enough for this one and as for the Archetype Traits you will level these up as you level up the Archetype Trait so they’re easy to come by for the most part.

Scrap can be collected from the world(s) as you progress through them, scrap can be found in a variety of ways, either placed there as collectibles, dropped by enemies or found in chests so keep your eyes open as you progress through Remnant 2.

Chances are there’s a lot of chests you have missed in game as they are hard to see given the background they are usually against so be diligent as you move through a given area and collect as much scrap as you can.

Collecting items like Rings you have already acquired on previous runs will award you a decent chunk of scrap as does selling gear and items you don’t have a use for. Just be careful selling things as once they’re gone, they’re gone and you might not be able to get certain items back.

The 100,000 scrap you need is cumulative and will take you a lot of runs before you will have enough and as far as I can see, there’s no way in game of keeping track of how much scrap you have collected so keep smashing the environment, killing enemies, selling unwanted items and looting every chest in the game where you will eventually tick over the 100,000 mark.

Craft an Item at the Blood Moon Altar

You will need to be on Yaesha then head through the World where you will, hopefully come across the Blood Moon Altar which looks like this on the map:

For me, the Blood Moon Altar appeared in The Forbidden Grove, although as the game is procedurally generated, it can technically appear anywhere but it will always be on Yaesha so keep playing through the World until you fins a Blood Moon Altar then ensure you don’t re roll the game again until you have this one done.

Once you find and interact with a Blood Moon Altar, you will see there are several things for sale, however, you will need Blood Moon Essence which is the currency used at the Blood Moon Altar and isn’t the easiest currency to find.

Allow me to explain, on Yaesha, very rarely you will have a blood moon above you which coats the foliage and general area in your given biome with a red glow, you can also see the blood moon by looking up when you’re outside which then causes Blood Moon Wisps to spawn in.

Blood Moon Wisps will look like this:

Remnant 2 Bad Moon Rising Blood Moon
Blood Moon
Remnant 2 Bad Moon Rising Blood Moon Wisp
Blood Moon Wisp
Remnant 2 Bad Moon Rising Blood Moon Essence
Blood Moon Essence

The Blood Moon Wisps die in one hit with any weapon, however, you need to be fast as they won’t attack you, they can phase through any building or object in the map and will disappear after a few seconds if you engage or aggro enemies so given the nature of the game, these can be tricky to find.

I recommend pairing this one with Shhh…It’s a Secret as you can purchase a new Archetype at the Blood Moon Altar, the Summoner which is very powerful and worth investing the time in to get and costs 15 Blood Moon Essence which will take you a while to get.

However, it is personal preference, you don’t want the Summoner Archetype and just want your achievement then purchase the Sanguine Vapour Concoction for 1 Blood Moon Essence.

Getting a Blood Moon to appear will be, for the most part, the longest part of obtaining Blood Moon Essence, I just counted the time I was recording from start to finish when I found a Blood Moon Altar to when I had 19 Blood Moon Essence (I need 1 Blood Moon Essence for the Grimoire but it took me just over 5 hours of constant back and forth) to Ward 13 and clearing The Forbidden Grove as well as the surrounding efforts but in total I had just over 9 hours of play time clocked before I got to 19 Blood Moon Essence.

Once a Blood Moon does appear, equip a fast firing weapon and pepper the area where the Wisps are and try to hit one at range as by the time you get close, they will usually have left the area and you’ll need to try again.

Whatever you do, don’t re roll the World until you have all the Blood Moon Essence you need as Yaesha will reset, if you even get Yaesha as your World in the re roll so grind out as much as you can until you have all the Blood Moon Essence Essence you need.

Either way, whichever way you decide to do this one, purchase at least 1 item from the Blood Moon Altar to have this one done and out of the way.

Play a Secret Song on the Water Harp

The Water Harp can usually be found on Yaesha in the, The Lost Temple biome and will require you to progress through a fair bit more of Yaesha before you can access the Secret Song.

Just outside the area where you can find the harp will be an alternative location for the Flautist, who, once you speak to will unlock Familiar Face.

Before you can play the Secret Song on the Water Harp you will firstly need to take down Kaeula’s Shadow in Kaeula’s Rest which will allow you to raise the bridge giving you access to the Ravager’s lair.

Then go through and take down the Ravager by either slaying the beast itself or shoot the Doe which will unlock Only Human. With the Ravager defeated (kill either the Doe or the Ravager), go back outside and head up and around to the Water Harp you used to raise the bridge (solution in the Only Human video).

You then need to raise the pegs in the following order on the 5×8 grid that makes up the harps controls:

With the sequence inputted, pull the lever to the left of the Water Harp to play the Secret Song then ensure you collect the Bolt Driver Handgun from the pedestal behind you.

Craft 15 Weapon Mods

You will be able to craft weapon mod with McCabe in Ward 13 with the items you will receive from lesser bosses. As long as you go through and take down every boss then consistently check in with McCabe to see what you can craft you should easily have this done once you take down all bosses in Losomn and Yaesha

There will also get a good amount of crafting materials from N’Erud, The Labyrinth and Root Earth.

Upgrade Any Trait to 10

Each of the 4 starting traits can be upgraded to 10 and can be done by going Player Menu> Traits then place your traits in to any of the available traits until you reach level 10 which you will easily be able to do before the end of the game.

The 4 starting traits are:

  1. Vigor, increases your health.
  2. Endurance, increases your stamina.
  3. Spirit, increases Mod Power Generation.
  4. Expertise, reduces Skill Cooldowns.

There are plenty of other traits in the game but these are the main ones you should be focusing on at first with either Vigor or Expertise being the ones I recommend you placing traits in at first.

Increase any trait to level 10 to greatly increase your efficiency as you progress through the game.

Acquire the Max Number of Trait Points

You will need a total of 60 trait points to be considered maxed out, although you can acquire more than that in the game by re-rolling Worlds and collecting Tome’s of Knowledge.

You will earn a good number of trait points just by levelling up and playing the game then as long as you keep your eyes peeled for Tomes of Knowledge which are scattered throughout the biomes and have a large purple glow to them you will easily get this one done before the end of the game.

Upgrade a Boss Weapon to +10

First up, you need to craft a boss weapon (see Boss’n Up for how to craft a boss weapon) then with that done, head over to Rigs where you will be able to upgrade that weapon as long as you have the required items.

Upgrading a normal weapon will require Iron, Forged Iron, Galvanised Iron, Hardened Iron then a Simulacrum to max it out which is the same for a boss weapon with the addition of each upgrade requiring Lumenite Crystals which are dropped by special enemies throughout the World(s) (see Not So Special Now for more information on special enemies).

Examples of boss weapons are Feral Judgement, Twisted Arbalest, Merciless etc. Weapons you can craft with a given material which drops from a boss once you’ve killed it.

Craft a boss weapon to +10 to seriously increase the damage output a weapon can achieve.

No One Should Have All That Power
Upgrade a Standard Weapon to +20

You are able to upgrade weapons with Rigs at Ward 13 which is an essential part of Remnant 2 as hitting harder means you kill things quicker and this is only a good thing.

In order to upgrade a standard weapon to +20 you will need a lot of materials and scrap and a standard weapon is defined as any weapon you can acquire from Brabus so it can be your starting gear or any other item you purchase from Brabus.

You will need Iron, Forged Iron and Gavanised Iron, all of which are lootable from out in the World(s) as long as you stay diligent and loot chests as well as collecting enemy drops.

Those items will get you to +19, you will then need a Simulacrum which can be found in the World(s) as very rare drops or you can buy 1 from Cass in Ward-13. Choose wisely though as at the time of writing, I believe there are only a handful of Simulacrum in the game so don’t waste them.

Go back to Rigs regularly and focus on upgrading a single weapon initially to level 20 then work on your other gear afterwards.

Upgrade Relic Capacity

Upgrading your Relic capcity is very important in Remnant 2 as it allows you to increase the amount of times you can heal which can be done with Wallace in Ward 13.

Before you can upgrade your Relic capacity you will need the following items:

  • Simalcrum x1: Purchase 1 from Cass in Ward-13 for 1,500 Scrap.
  • Lumenite Crystal: x10: Looted from any world, usually from Chests or from powerful enemies.
  • Scrap x1,000: Scrap can be found throughout Remnant 2 and is the main currency.

Once you have the required items, go and speak with Wallace (where you chose your Archetype) then craft +1 Relic Charge giving you another Dragon Heart you can use to heal more times out in the World(s).

Upgrade a Weapon Mutator to +10

You can upgrade Mutators at Dwell who is the Pan over by the shipping entrance in Ward-13 by tabbing right to upgrades after checking Dwell’s wares.

Upgrading a Mutator will require Corrupted Lumenite Crystals which drop from Aberrations that can be farmed in the various World(s) which is best done in Adventure mode.

You will also need a healthy amount of scrap before you can fully upgrade a weapon Mutator to +10.

You will also need a very rare material: Simulacrum which is farmable behind the Water Harp contraption on Yaesha, however, it is a rare spawn and does require a re roll per Simulacrum obtained.

That’s the Remnant 2 guide complete I hope it helps you through the game.
