Here is the Remnant 2 Kaeuala’s Shadow Boss Guide which will help you find and defeat a very powerful boss who can disappear on a dime, summon tentacles and generally mess your day up if you stay out in the open.
One of the toughest parts of this fight is the fact the water restricts your movement a great deal with you being unable to run, dodge or move about regardless of how high levelled or powerful you are so staying to the platforms is essential to help you survive.
Location: Yaesha, Kaeula’s Rest.
Rewards: Lumenite Crystal x 3, Tome of Knowledge x1, Scrap x500, Twilight Dactylus x1.
Progress through Yaesha to Kaeula’s Rest then hope that you have the correct version of the map, as at the time of writing this guide at least, one of the 2 versions of the map will have the Temple Key quest item in the penultimate section allowing you to go through the small door against the back wall as you enter Kaeula’s Rest before going round to the left.
The other map, won’t have the key and the only way I found to fix this was to re roll the entire campaign and go through Yaesha again so if Yaesha is your final World then you will lose a lot of progress over a simple glitch or lack of attention on the part of the dev’s.

If your map doesn’t look like this then you might, sadly, be looking at a re roll as we need to get through Kaeula’s Rest to be able to get to where we need to be to access Yaesha’s World Boss.
Once you have fought your way through all of the enemies in Kaeula’s Rest, which is a tough area, especially if a Sentinel spawns in as these things have an incredibly high defence and so far, I can’t find a way to break through it. I’ve tried multiple elements, strategies and work arounds but you’ll only be doing single digit damage for the most part.
Before going in to the final room of Kaeula’s Rest on the left with the water, go over to the right and unlock the door just in case you die before hand, it’s a much shorter walk back then with that done, go through to the final room and collect the Kaeula’s Tear Ring from the shrine where will then be pulled down through the water.
You will be in the starting area of Kaeula’s Rest and be straight in a fight with Kaeula’s Shadow, which, if like me, on your first attempt, you have used all of your Relics and most of your ammo, won’t go very well.
Fortunately, you will be back at the starting checkpoint should you die and its a small walk back to the boss fog gate where you can then go in fully geared having died and we can do the fight properly now.
Kaeula’s Shadow is a fairly tough fight as it will spawn in a lot of tentacles you will need to deal with as getting surrounded can prove devastating for your health bar so shoot or melee your way through the tentacles staying close to the pillars and staying out of deep water at all costs as movement is seriously restricted.
The actual Kaeula’s Shadow will slash at you, drop its tentacles in to the water and come up to slap you where you stand so keep moving around the pillars unloading on it whenever you have an opening.
Fire works well as with all enemies on Yaesha so use it if you have it, take out the Tentacles when the boss health bar changes as a priority keeping an eye behind you so you don’t get slammed in to deep water by the boss then keep plugging away using the pillars for the cover until Kaeula’s Shadow is put down.
